  1. Dear Bob! The next time when you come and visit Singapore, you definitely have to make a trip down to Marina Bay to Gardens By The Bay. To fully understand the ethnics of Singapore culture, the Heritage Gardens will practically bring you into another world, bringing you back to the heritage times of Singapore. Within the Heritage Gardens there is the Indian, Chinese, Malay and Colonial gardens. With the help of visuals and words, you will know how the different races lived in Singapore, Its like a walking story book! After visiting the Heritage Gardens, you will soon encounter our very own super tree here in Singapore. In total, we have 12 super trees with 6 scattered around the whole gardens the other 6 clustered in the silver and golden garden. Linking the 6 super trees in the silver and golden gardens, is the OCBC skywalk which is a 128m walkway which is suspended up in the 50 meters high super trees. When you are up there you will be able to see the whole garden just by walking from one end to another. Not to spoil the attractions for you anymore, I will leave you to enjoy the rest of it on your trip to Singapore next year!

  2. Dear Salena I heard you are coming to Singapore recently I have been to this attraction in Singapore called gardens by the bay and I must encourage you to visit the place as it is simply magnificent. Although you may think it is just a garden but it is not your ordinary garden as it has many different types of gardens. For example it has 3 heritage gardens that feature 3 of Singapore ’ s major races indian, malays and Chinese. They are designed to feature plants used by the various races culture and tradition. They also have a dragon fly pond just before you enter the gardens. I would highly recommend you to go see the Chinese gardens as they have some unique structure which you might be interested in as I remember you like the way Chinese ponds are design.

  3. It’s been a long time since you came back to Singapore. How have you been?? There are many changes and additions to the attractions in Singapore. One of it was Gardens by the bay near Marina Bay. After my first trip to the gardens by the bay, I will like to recommend you one of the attractions: Heritage Gardens – Chinese Gardens. Firstly, there are pictures of traditional flowers such as the Peony and Lotus; it states the history and also what it symbolizes. Secondly, the garden is filled with various types of beautifully colored flowers such as the blue hydrangeas with white and pink roses planted beside it. There were also walking paths made of rocks, water feature which resembles rivers, rocks which resemble mountains in the garden, all of these shows the traditional Chinese cultures. There is also a river which flows down rocky path which caught my attention. The refreshing air also helps to lift up the spirits. Other than the Chinese garden, there are also many other attractions as well. Do visit it when you are coming back to Singapore next time!

  4. Hello! I am going to blog about my recent trip to Gardens By The Bay, and with this post dedicated to my friend who is currently overseas now, my dearest Minzy. 

Gardens by the Bay is a park spanning 101 hectares (250 acres) of reclaimed land in central Singapore. It is an integral part of a strategy by the Singapore government to transform Singapore from a "Garden City" to a "City in a Garden". The stated aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city. There are several free attractions and cooled conservatories. The cooled conservatories are air-conditioned and are really amazing, but this blog post will be focusing on one of the free outdoor attraction which is the very meaningful Heritage Gardens.

The Heritage Gardens is a collection of four themed gardens that took me through the history and culture of Singapore’s three main ethnic groups and colonial past. The plants and trees featured are in the cultural practices of the respective ethnic groups. As I walked through each garden, I discovered the stories of the contribution from different ethnic groups towards Singapore’s formation. From the Kampong House(Malay Garden), Night Life of Trees Panel(Indian Garden), Benevolent Buddha(Chinese Garden), to Black and White Verandah(Colonial Garden), I have learnt about the history and story of the cultures and our colonial’s past! This is really an unique experience and an eye opener.

Minzy, I can’t wait for the day you come back to Singapore again! I will definitely bring you to view the beautiful Gardens!

  5. Dear Alicia, How are you doing overseas? It has been so long since we last met. Maybe during your holidays, you can come over to Singapore to visit me and we can catch up with each other. Since you have always been a nature lover, we can go to ‘Gardens by the bay’ and it is a newly built attraction in Singapore last year 2011. It will definitely be the best place we can go. In gardens by the bay, you will expect to see many different types of plants and flowers. There will be many exciting and exotic plants you might not have seen before. Also, there are many other attractions such as the World of plants, Supertree Grove, Heritage Gardens, Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes and Bay East Garden. The best of all, all these attractions are free. If you will like to go to see more exotic plants, we can head to the two domes but we will have to pay about $20++ sgd but I bet it will be worth the price. I will be waiting for you to come over during the holidays, I can’t wait!
    Yours sincerely,
    Clara.

  6. ‘Gardens by the bay’ is really one attraction that tourists shouldn’t miss out when in Singapore for the holidays. Singaporeans too should take a day to head down to the garden. It is a really fascinating place to go to with all the flowers and trees. Many types of plants all in one area, not to mention the refreshing feeling you get while walking around admiring the sights. There is also a huge flower dome that houses beautiful flowers and a tall waterfall and the sky bridge, which I think no one should miss out on, although there is a small fee to pay.

  7. Dear Shelly, how have you been living overseas? Is everything going on fine? The reason why I am writing this short blog today is because there is a new attraction in Singapore, known as Gardens By The Bays therefore, I would like to promote and advertise this attraction to you. Basically, in Gardens By The Bays, there are many different types of plants, flowers and trees from many different parts of the world. However, one of the attraction did attracted me very much and it was the Malay garden, which I believe that you would like it too since you have always been interested in Malay's culture. The Malay garden is actually one of the heritage garden, along with the Chinese and Indian garden. It is actually a garden where visitors can discover how plants play a part in the culture of Singapore's main ethnic group and also the history of why some places in Singapore are named the way it is named.

    Your sincerely,
    Ivy

It's a local attraction that contains plants and flowers from various cultures and different ethnic type of groups in Singapore, as well as providing you the knowledge of the past culture of Singapore .
There's simply too much sightseeing to be done , from the gardens I just mentioned , there's also the fame Supertrees , tall & colossal , big trees with no leaves at all ! However , that's not it , it has an environmental friendly feature as it uses integrated solar panels and absorb solar energy to light up the lightbulbs around it at night ! It's definitely a breathtaking sight not to be missed !
Now , besides sightseeing , you must be wondering what else us there to be done right ? There's a restaurant nearby the SuperTrees called "SuperTree Dining" , it caters different types of cuisine and I guarantee it will definitely make your taste-buds jump in joy as you savor the mouth-watering dishes , so whenever during the sightseeing trip , you fell tired or hungry , you can always stop by there , grab a quick bite and continue your tour !

  9. Bay East Garden is opened 24hours and there are no admission charges. With all the features and it would be a different experience for you as you lived oversea for quite some time already. Bay East Garden is a place where you can spend your time with your loved ones. And there is this walkway called waterpark promenade which overlooks the Marina Bay financial district. That’s where you can see how beautiful Singapore financial district are! Or if you prefer to sit down and relax instead of walking, there is an opened lush lawn where you can sit down and have a picnic with your family. And if you think that having a picnic there or strolling there will be very hot, think again. Bay East Garden is designed with a five water inlets that aligned with the prevailing wind direction, maximizing and extending the shoreline while allowing wind and water to penetrate the site to help cool areas. It will be very cooling. And there are more future developments of Bay East Garden that will be based on the theme of water.

You will be amazed at the number of plants in the heritage garden. Example like in the malay garden, they cultivate rambutan, jambu, coconut and durian. In the Chinese garden, different plants such as pine, Chinese pistache and king sago can be found. Also in the Indian garden, asian palmyra pam, forbidden fruit of india and banyan tree are planted.

  12. Dear Justin,
How are you? It’s been a long time since u last came to Singapore. Recently I visited a place called Gardens by the Bay and I think that it is really a suitable place for a nature lover like you. There are many different types of plants and flowers to be seen there. Each with a signboard beside, explaining its uniqueness. Also, there is a flower dome and cloud forest available for viewing just for twenty dollars. There is also a three tall statues, resembling trees. Those statues light up during the night, making it a very spectacular view. That amazing statue is called Super Trees. Afterwards, we can have dinner at the super tree dining, where you can have your favorite texas chicken. Also, a mosquito repellent or long pant is advised as there are many mosquitos there. Centipedes can also be spotted on the ground crawling every one meter I walked. I really hope that you can come to the Gardens by the Bay the next time you visit Singapore. It is a place I highly recommend.
    Yours Sincerely,
    Shu Ting

  13. Hello John! How have you been? What have you been up to recently?
For myself, I have recently visited a local attraction in Singapore called ‘Gardens by the Bay’ and I highly recommend you to visit it the next time you are in Singapore!
I would definitely recommend you to pay special attention to the Indian Garden, one of the heritage garden attractions in Gardens by the Bay! The rich amount of history and how flowers play an important and significant role in Hinduism is absolutely spellbinding. The Kolam art design that lasts only for a day and correlates with the Hindu concept of constant change called “samsara” is surprisingly attention grabbing! I personally assure you that your trip to Gardens by the Bay will completely be worthwhile and enjoyable. The scenery, architecture, greenery and the entire layout of the attraction are breathtaking. You could easily spot the entrance of the Indian Garden when you see an elephant statue.
That’s all I have to share with you, leaving you with suspense (in a curious way), I hope to see you soon in Singapore!

    Yours Sincerely,
    Kristian

  15. One of the must visit attraction at Gardens By The Bay is the Supertree Grove! Among the 18 Supertrees that are available here in the garden, there is an elevated walkway called the OCBC Skyway which is 128 meters long and will connect two 42 meters high Supertree. For $5, visitors will get to enjoy a breathtaking aerial view of the garden. You will get the opportunity to snap beautiful pictures of the landscape there. The bridge is located on 22 meters above ground level but the view is still magnificent.

At the 50 meters Supertree, there will be a treetop bistro that will offer a paranomic view of the garden and surrouding of Marina Bay area, while F&B outlets located in the Supertree Grove will offer a casual and romantic dining experience amidst the lush garden setting. These are among the many dining options that will be available in the garden,

So, be sure to visit the Supertree Grove when you go to Gardens By The Bay and have a splendid time with your friends and loved ones as it will be an unforgettable experience!

    Yours sincerely,

I strongly encourage you to go to Gardens by the Bay.You definitely have to go to there as it showcases the best of tropical horticulture and garden artistry, with a mass display of tropical flowers. A rich diversity of plants from different parts of the world have been planted in the Gardens, enabling visitors to experience different botanical worlds, from South America to the Mediterranean, right here in sunny Singapore. Also, the most iconic feature are the OCBC super tree where you are able to access to a certain height and offers you a bird's eye view of the whole garden. It is a futuristic garden located at the central of Singapore at marina bay. The garden was famous for its scenery surrounding that attracts people and also you will be able to see the different type of flowers and plants in Singapore. The scenery was also a stellar especially at night with the bright and colourful lighting and views of the marina bay in Singapore.
